Laxmi Capital has received the license from SEBON to operate Private Equity and Venture Capital (PE/VC) funds as Fund Manager under Specialized Investment Fund Regulation, 2075. We are one of the few companies to have received the license under Specialized Investment Fund Regulation 2075 to operate Private Equity/Venture Capital (PE/VC) funds.

Upon receiving license from Securities Board Nepal to operate Private Equity and Venture Capital funds in Nepal, Laxmi Capital has recently registered Laxmi Sustainable Energy Fund. Nepal is already a Signatory of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and our fund intends to be closely aligned to SDG and support Nepalese Government from the private sector. Laxmi Capital has initiated the fund with the core objective of focusing on sustainable energy resources.

The company has made a conscious choice to design and operate funds that would deliver an impact to the society while generating returns comparable to the market. The company is keen to partner with various Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) to operate impact funds that could generate impact at a larger scale. In consideration of this objective, Laxmi Capital has aligned itself to Operating Principles of Impact Management. Laxmi Capital became the 153th Signatory to Impact Principles, the first from Nepal and third from South Asia.

Our Team

Mr. Rajiv Sapkota has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Laxmi Capital on secondment from Laxmi Bank Limited. He has been involved in Laxmi Bank since past 14 years. Previously he served at SEBON as Research Officer during late 1990s and after which he has served for 8 years at Himalayan Bank Ltd. and short stint at Sunrise Bank Ltd. He also served as the Chairman of Board of Directors at a General Insurance Company called Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. an associate company of Laxmi Bank. His active role during the stint of about five years helped the company to bounce back in all business and operational fronts. Given his exposure in various financial market entities and remarkable experience in banking sector and capital market industry, Mr. Sapkota has helped the company reach greater heights.

Mr. Atish Shrestha heads Laxmi Specialized Investment Fund (LSIF) unit as Chief Specialized Investment Officer. Mr. Shrestha previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Laxmi Capital Market Limited. He is a member of the company’s Management Committee and sits on Investment Committee of LSIF unit. He joined LxC in 2014 and since then he has helped the company grow impeccably over the years. Mr. Shrestha is a certified Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has previously worked in Deloitte Haskins and Sells, Gurgaon, India. Prior to this, he has worked in Lochan & Co. He has an extensive auditing experience of renowned companies in Nepal and abroad mainly in India, Myanmar and Gambia.

Ms. Priti Pradhan has worked in Laxmi Capital for almost 6 years. Presently she leads product designing, reporting and branding of Specialized Investment Fund Department. She has worked extensively in the areas of Mutual Fund and Corporate Advisory Services. She had handled Laxmi Value Fund-I, first mutual fund scheme under Laxmi Mutual Fund and initially streamlined Laxmi Unnati Kosh and Shubha Laxmi Kosh. Ms. Pradhan holds Masters in Business Administration from Ace Institute of Management.

Ms. Anuja Kandel has recently joined Laxmi Capital. At present she leads Finance division of the Specialized Investment Fund Department. She has worked in NIBL Ace Capital Limited for 2 years as Research Analyst. Ms. Kandel has completed Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level - II from CFA Institute and is currently a candidate for Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level – III. She holds Masters in Finance and Control from School of Management (SOMTU).

Mr. Rijul Dhungana has worked in Laxmi Capital for almost 7 years. He worked as an IT professional and now is involved in Specialized Investment Fund unit as Research Analyst. While in Laxmi Capital, he had extensively worked with multiple departments and played a lead role in installation of various software. Mr. Dhungana holds a bachelor’s degree in Science & Information technology and is currently pursuing Masters in Business Administration.

Mr. Bishal Thathere has recently joined Laxmi Capital in the Specialized Investment Fund Department as Research Analyst. He was previously worked with Antarprerana Pvt. Ltd. as Investment Analyst for a year. Moreover, he has almost 2 years of experiences working as a lecturer of ACCA course. He is currently a semi - qualified ACCA and also pursuing his Bachelor's in Business Studies (BBS) at Nepal Commerce Campus.
