Property Expo 2018 kicks off in Kathmandu

Primeminister urges realtors to base businesses in provinces rather than thecenter

KATHMANDU, June16: Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli has said that the realtors should beworking at the provincial level, rather than the central level. Speaking at theinauguration of 7th Property Expo on Friday at Bhrikuti Mandap, Oli askedentrepreneurs to work on provincial development rather than just runningKathmandu-based businesses. 

“Mega cities should bedeveloped in empty lands nearby the highways. We also need to develop smartcities and culture cities,” Oli said during the event. He said that empty landsmust be utilized in order to bring about economic development in the country.

Likewise, he also urgedthe entrepreneurs to work in a fair manner, and pledged government support tosuch entrepreneurs. 

“All the barriers thatcome on the way of your work will be addressed by the government but the workshould be fair and all the documents are required to be fulfilled as per theregulations,” he added. The expo organized by Nepal Land and HousingDevelopers' Association will run for five days, until next Tuesday. Theassociation said the expo would be helpful in bringing the real estate agentsand consumers together where they could both benefit. 

According to theorganizers, earthquake-resistant houses, apartments, land planning anddevelopment projects, producers and sellers of construction materials,engineering and architecture consultant, as well as bank and insurancecompanies will be featured in the expo. Both national and internationalexhibitors will exhibit their services and products.

There will be thestalls of electric appliances, furniture, pipe, sanitary ware fitting,vehicles, paints, decorative stuff, architecture, banks and financialinstitutions, and insurance companies in the expo.
